Recycling waste is one of the major tasks to be executed in this 21st century. The production of waste is increasing exponentially every year. If recycling and reusing of waste is not maintained then probably it will lead to many problems. We know one of the popular wastes is of plastic. Use of plastic should be reduced as much as possible. Today plastics are used in packaging of almost everything and one of them is cement bag.
cement bags are made up of plastic for storage and moisture prevention. After the cement is used, the plastic bags are totally waste. Though some of them are recycled for different purposes, mostly they are good for nothing. Millions of plastic cement bags are abandoned every year and this should be reduced.
One of the alternatives is paper bag. Every year tons of paper are produced as waste. Newspaper, Magazine, Exam papers, Old copies and books, student’s paper wastes and much more become useless after its use. Very few of these products are stored for future use and all others are totally waste. If we make proper use of these waste then paper waste can be reused.
For making cement bags papers are glued over one another until it gains strength as much as a plastic cement bag to hold cement inside it after it is given the shape as a bag. Gluing papers on top of other paper will be able to withstand the pressure of cement and thus waste paper will be reused. Painting will be done so that paper becomes stronger.
Making such bags is not cheap but not expensive too. A moderate cost is needed which is directly paid by cement customer for not using plastic bag and using waste paper bag to save the environment.
Questions will be raised that papers are made by cutting tress so how is the environment safe. The answer is yes trees are being cut but they are not being cut for cement bag making purpose instead educational purposes which is essential. The making of paper cement bag is just reusing paper to eliminate the use of plastic as cement bag.
